Understanding Your Water Shouldn't Be Complicated
CheckMyWater.ca is a free tool that helps Canadian homeowners make sense of their water quality — in seconds, not days.
Why We Built This
Most Canadians have no idea what's actually in their water. Municipal reports are buried in technical jargon. Lab test results are pages of numbers with no explanation. And when homeowners search for answers online, they find sales pitches instead of honest information.
We built CheckMyWater to change that. Upload your water test report, enter your results manually, or just tell us your city — and get an instant, plain-English breakdown of what's in your water, what it means for your home, and what (if anything) you should do about it.
If your water is fine, we'll tell you that too. We're not here to sell you something you don't need.
How It Works
Share Your Water Info
Upload a photo of your water test report, type in your results, or just tell us your city and what you're noticing — spots on dishes, dry skin, staining, bad taste.
Get Your Analysis
Within seconds, see a clear breakdown of every parameter in your water — colour-coded so you know instantly what's fine, what's borderline, and what needs attention.
See What Fits Your Home
If treatment is needed, see specific equipment recommendations sized for your household — with links to learn more. No pressure, no upselling.
What We Analyze
Our tool evaluates the water quality parameters that matter most for Canadian homeowners — the ones that affect your health, your home, and your daily life.
These include hardness (the cause of scale buildup and dry skin), iron and manganese (staining), pH (pipe corrosion), coliform and E. coli (bacteria), nitrates (health risk for infants), chlorine levels, total dissolved solids, and sulphur. We also flag emerging concerns like microplastics and PFAS — so-called "forever chemicals" — that standard municipal treatment doesn't fully remove.
Whether you're on city water or a private well, whether you just moved into a new home or you've been dealing with water issues for years — we give you the same thorough, honest analysis.
Who's Behind This
CheckMyWater.ca is built and maintained by Purisoft Water Solutions, a family-owned water treatment company serving Ontario since 2011. We operate two offices — Kitchener-Waterloo and Barrie — and have helped thousands of homeowners solve their water problems.
We built this tool because we believe everyone deserves to understand their water, not just the people in our service area. That's why CheckMyWater is free and available to every homeowner in Canada.
If you're in our service area, we'd love to help you in person with a free on-site water test. If you're not, we can ship equipment to you or help you find a local provider.

Common Questions
Is this really free?
Yes, completely. We built CheckMyWater as a resource for Canadian homeowners. There are no fees, no subscriptions, and no strings attached.
How accurate is the analysis?
If you upload or enter actual lab test results, the analysis is based on your real data compared against Canadian drinking water guidelines. If you use the "Estimate" option, results are based on your city's published municipal water quality data — accurate for city water, but a professional test is always recommended for well water or precise measurements.
Do I need a water test report to use this?
No. You can use the "Estimate My Water" option — just select your city and tell us about your household. We'll estimate your water quality based on municipal data for your area. For well water, we recommend getting a lab test first since well water varies property to property.
What if I'm not in Ontario?
CheckMyWater works for homeowners across Canada. Our city database covers major cities in every province. If you have a water test report, the analysis works regardless of where you live — water chemistry is water chemistry.
Do you sell water treatment equipment?
We recommend treatment solutions when your water analysis calls for it. The products we recommend are from Purisoft, backed by a Canadian manufacturer with CSA-certified equipment. If you're in our Ontario service area (Kitchener-Waterloo or Barrie regions), we offer professional installation. We also ship equipment anywhere in Canada.
Can I get a professional water test?
If you're in our service area, we offer free on-site water testing — call us at (519) 623-3222 (Kitchener-Waterloo) or (705) 331-1813 (Barrie). If you're outside our area, check with your local municipality or a certified water testing laboratory.
